Gozde Gokozan, M.S., M.A. is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, (LMFT 100478) and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LPCC 4888). Gozde received her Master of Science Degree in Applied Child Psychology from Kingston University, London, United Kingdom and later received her Post Master's Certificate in Child and Family Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from New York University (NYU), New York. Additionally, Gozde received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. Gozde is currently working towards her doctoral degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
As a psychotherapist, Gozde provides a unique psychotherapy approach to treat a wide variety of conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, LGBT issues, attachment issues, PTSD, OCD, kleptomania, and grief. Gozde has experience working with a wide range of clients including adults and couples, and also children who have developmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder, social communication disorder, and tic disorders. Gozde facilitates grief and mild traumatic brain injuries process groups for children and adults.
Gozde has completed an intensive Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) training and is specialized and experienced in treating couples. Gozde works with heterosexual couples, same-sex couples, and those in both committed and open relationships. Gozde is also a certified EMDR therapist who combines EMDR with a mindfulness practice to treat many different issues including major traumas, as well as anxiety, stress, OCD, and social phobias.
Gozde is multicultural and multilingual, and she has lived in United States, England and Turkey. This allows her to understand cultural differences in human behavior and thought. She can provide therapy in both English and Turkish.
