Ritu Lal, M.A., AMFT, APCC is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #128877) as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 10484) practicing under the supervision of Dr. Paula Bruce (PSY 16248). She completed her B.A. in Liberal Arts at Sarah Lawrence College and received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from University of Massachusetts Global and completed extensive clinical training at the Hillside Wellness Center. While at Hillside, Ritu worked with adults, children, couples, and families with a range of conditions related to mood dysregulation, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, grief, personality disorders, and relational issues pertaining to couple and family distress. Prior to her career as a psychotherapist, Ritu worked in the entertainment industry. Her previous experience in the entertainment field provides her with the knowledge necessarily to understand the highs and lows of working in a creative field as well as the difficult trajectory inherent to both creative and entrepreneurial undertakings.
Clinically, Ritu operates primarily from a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspective but always utilizes a client-centered approach. She aims to help clients grow from their adversity and gain insight from their past to make empowering and positive choices in their present and future.
