Eliane Spagnoletto, M.A. is registered to the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW 73281) in California. She works with adolescents, adults, older adults, couples and families from a psychodynamic perspective. Eliane practices psychotherapy under the supervision of Dr. Janice Nishiyama (PSY16545). Eliane earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University Northridge (CSUN) in 2016. Through her work, education in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and intensive training in the practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy at The Maple Counseling Center, Eliane treats a variety of presenting problems including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, skin picking, hair pulling, chronic illness, peer relationships, life transitions, and patterns of self-critical and self-shaming behavior. Her work focuses on exploring childhood roots, feelings and behaviors within an insight-oriented context allowing individuals to sit with emotions, rather than avoid them. She also works with couples who get easily entangled in angry arguments, helping them learn to identify and communicate their deep feelings/needs in a safer and respectful manner. Eliane provides an open and safe space for exploring deeper feelings, and she is an active participant in the therapy process. She is a trilingual therapist (fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese) who enjoys working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
