Ashley Wendt, MA, AMFT is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 111135) under the supervision of Dr. Janice Nishiyama (PSY 16545). Ashley received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, with a specialization in trauma. Ashley has a wide range of clinical experience, and works with adults, adolescents and couples in working through trauma, personality issues, relational concerns, grief and mood regulation.
Ashley received comprehensive training at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, working in depth with adults and couples. Ashley has also trained in childhood development at Early Childhood Development Associates and has worked in a dual diagnosis treatment facility treating individuals with mood disorders, addiction and/or psychosis.
Ashley works from a psychodynamic perspective, exploring how our pasts have shaped our present relationships with ourselves and others. Ashley believes that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and has healing potential as a microcosm for the client’s broader experience. Thus, Ashley focuses on creating a uniquely safe space for each client’s emotional exploration.
